A date of birth. When coverage started or ended. Thatโ€™s it โ€” no jargon required.

We derive the rest

Enrollment periods, uncovered months, and the exemptions that mean nothing is owed at all.

Read it to your client

A plain-English script, the full derivation, and a copyable summary for the file.

Penalty calculators

What a late enrollment actually costs โ€” with the full derivation your client can check.

Enrollment & income tools

The questions that come before the penalty: when they can enrol, whether old coverage counted, and what their income adds.

These tools are the free part

MedicareCopilot is the platform behind them โ€” CRM, AI plan comparison, quoting, enrollment, compliance, and commission tracking, purpose-built for Medicare agents.

Why we built these

Every free Medicare penalty calculator we could find asks the agent to do the hard part first โ€” work out the Initial Enrollment Period, count the uncovered months, and remember the edge cases โ€” and then just multiplies for you.

Ours work the other way round. You enter what you actually know: a date of birth and when coverage started or ended. The tool derives the enrollment periods, counts the months, screens for the exemptions that mean no penalty is owed at all, and shows every step of the arithmetic so you can defend the number in front of a client.

They are free, they require no account, and nothing you type is ever sent to us.

Important information

These tools produce estimates only, based on published CY2026 figures. They are not official determinations. Official premium amounts, penalty assessments, and eligibility decisions are made by the Social Security Administration and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

MedicareCopilot is not affiliated with or endorsed by CMS, Medicare, the Social Security Administration, or any government agency. We do not sell, recommend, or enroll anyone in Medicare plans. This is software for licensed insurance agents.

Nothing here is medical, legal, or tax advice. Enrollment rules and cost figures change at least annually โ€” figures on these pages were last verified 2026-07-27 against CMS and SSA sources.
